This year’s Rainforest World Music Festival which will be held from August 7-9 will feature an exotic Mongolian musical instrument “Moorin Hoor” or horse fiddle to the audience.
Enkh Jargal Dandarvaanchig, also known as Epi, will introduce to the festival a mysterious yet exotic musical instrument from the Mongolian Steepe of Central Asia.
Epi grew up in a small village near the Russian border and was deeply rooted in his ancestral nomadic way of life and studied “Moorin Hoor” for two years at the Music-Conservatorium of Ulaanbaatar.
The Mongolian artist remained persistent in maintaining the cultural heritage of his people keeping the traditional Mongolian music traditions alive both in his home country and overseas.
In 1993 Epi went to Germany where he met musician Rüdiger Oppermann with whom he work and travelled to European countries and the USA.
Epi, possessing the musical talent adapting between different musical styles to assimilate his music to the modern one, had an album to himself, “Hoirr Öngö”, meaning “between two worlds”.
The combination of his skills on the “Moorin Hoor” and the perfection of his “Choomie” singing allows him to connect his traditional roots with the modern and western cultured music resulting in an extraordinary style of improvisation.
This music offers the smell and the beauty of the Mongolian steppe to the ears and the eyes of the audience, taking them on a journey to different cultures with the Mongolian wanderer.

Tickets event-presale is priced at RM 110.00 for single adult and child is priced at RM 50.00 while the three-day entrance is priced at RM 300.00 for adult and RM 130.00 for a child.
Family package of two adults and two children entrance is also on sale at RM 220.00.
