City Public Link Bus Service Sdn Bhd (CPL) as in previous years will once again provide the shuttle service for this year’s Rainforest Word Music Festival (RWMF) which will be held from 20th – 22nd of June.
The bus shuttle service from Kuching to RWMF’s venue (Sarawak Cultural Village) will run on an hourly basis between 10am to 8pm from the main hub @ Hills Shopping Mall and the secondary hub @ Merdeka Palace Hotel. Free feeder service will send passengers to these two hubs for onward journey to the entrance of Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV). Returning to Kuching will be from 11am to 1.30am and passengers will be dropped off at the designated hotels before ending at the Hills Shopping Mall.
The FREE feeder service ‘City Ring A’ will cover areas along Jalan Gambir, Main Bazaar, Waterfront and Jalan Tun Abdul Rahman while “City Ring B” will cover areas along Jalan Abell, Jalan Padungan and Jalan Green Hill. The service for this “City Ring” bus will operate from 10.00am to 6.00pm. The Kuching – SCV bus ticket is priced at RM15.00 for adult and RM8.00 for children per trip.
There will be counters selling bus tickets at various hotels namely: Merdeka Palace Hotel, Hilton Hotel, Harbour View Hotel, Grand Margherita Hote and 360 Urban Resort Hotel. Passengers staying outside the free service routes can call 013-810 8199 (Leslie) and 012-899 1779 (Najib) for free pick-up. However, this service is limited to the following properties: Grand Continental Hotel, Tribal Lodge (Sarakraf), 360 Urban Resort Hotel, Kingwood Inn and Citadines Apartment & Hotel.
CPL will also be offering its “Unlimited Bus Rides Pass” This bus pass will provide “Unlimited” rides on all our buses at any time and on any day to the RWMF venue during those 3 days. On top of that, the ticket, priced at RM80 each, is also valid for unlimited bus ride access to any of our CPL’s public bus routes during those 3 days, covering areas up to Serian, Bau and Lundu.
For those who drive themselves, there be van shuttle services from One Hotel Santubong to Sarawak Cultural Village. Tickets are priced at RM5.00 for adult and RM3.00 for children per trip and are available at the main entrance and the Lobby of One Hotel Santubong. The public is encourage to take the bus shuttle service so as to reduce the anticipated traffic exodus heading back to Kuching between the times of 10pm to 1.00am. There is an added convenience if festival goers park their car at Hills Shopping Mall, the main service hub.
