Havana Social Club

Havana Social Club is a group that specializes in Cuban music and Latin American rhythms, aiming to promote Cuban culture and its music both in Asia and globally. The band boasts members from diverse backgrounds, including Cuba, Singapore, Venezuela, and the USA, all sharing a profound passion for the vibrant sounds of Cuban and Latin music. Additionally, the group pays tribute to the legendary Buena Vista Social Club, which significantly contributed to introducing Cuban music to an international audience.

Since their inception, Havana SC has been actively performing in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, starting in 2014. They have graced renowned venues such as Blu Jazz Cafe, The Sultan Jazz Club, The Shangri-La Hotel, and No Black Tie Jazz Club (KL), among others. Their performances have also been featured in various festivals, including the Singapore Jazz Festival, Singapore River Festival, and Medini Live Festival (JB). From the Publika Jazz Festival in Kuala Lumpur to the Ljen Summer Jazz Festival in Java, their music has resonated across different continents, including appearances at the Perth Australia Fringe Festival from 2016 to 2019 and at events like Formula 1 races. Noteworthy recent performances include the Singapore Cocktails Fest 2023 and Gastrobeats 2023, as well as the Singapore Latin Fest 2023.

Formed by Pablo Calzado Morales, a talented Cuban drummer and percussionist, Havana Social Club continues to captivate audiences worldwide with their electrifying performances, furthering the appreciation of Cuban music and culture on the global stage.
