Rainforest World Music Festival is here once again and the organisers are now inviting interested parties to take up stalls at the Food and Village Mart located at the Sarawak Cultural Village in Santubong, Kuching during the Rainforest World Music Festival 2011.
The festival organizer STB Leisure & Property, a subsidiary of Sarawak Tourism Board is giving interested vendors until February 25 to book the stalls. The stalls are priced at RM1,000.00 for a stall measuring 10’ X 20’ and RM2,000.00 for one that measures 20’ X 20’. This is for a period of three days ie the whole duration of the festival and is located at the Orang Ulu Longhouse lawn area. The Premium Food Mart area, however, is priced at RM1,200.00 (10’ X 20’) and RM2,400.00 (20’ X 20’) and is located at the Iban Longhouse lawn area.
Each stall is equipped with basic facilities like table and chairs, lighting, fan and power supply.
The Food Mart is opened to all vendors selling a variety of food and beverages eg Western cuisine, Thai dishes or Japanese food like sushi and sashimi as well as local food such as Sarawak Laksa, Kolo Mee, Manok Pansoh, Midin (wild fern) or chicken barbeque to name a few.
The Village Mart, on the other hand is for those selling handicrafts, textiles, jewellery and other products and services. At the Village Mart, we are also hoping to have booths featuring artists who will be able to demonstrate arts like artificial henna tattoo, airbrush tattoo, local fabric arts and paintings where the festival goers can participate or have a tattoo done as a memorabilia of the festival.
As numbers of stalls at both the Food Mart and Village Mart are limited, those who are interested to apply are requested to obtain the application form at the Sarawak Tourism Board office, 5th Floor, Bangunan Yayasan Sarawak. Applicants can also send an email request to [email protected].
This 14th year edition of the festival is expected to draw a crowd of at least 21,000 festival goers during the three days. The event which has put Sarawak on the world map will be held at the Sarawak Cultural Village from July 8 to 10.
To date, STB has already confirmed 21 bands performing at the RWMF. All of the 21 bands will be making their debut appearance on the RWMF 2011 stage and they come from across the globe so if you want to be a part of this exciting festival, hurry up and get your application forms for the Mart.
Tickets for the RWMF which is priced at RM110 for adults per day and RM300 for a 3-day pass for those above 12 years old are available online at www.ticketcharge.com.my. Tickets for children between three and 12 years old are at RM55 per day and RM150 for a three-day pass.
