Date: 8 – 10 July 2011
Venue: Sarawak Cultural Village, Santubong, near Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo
Organised by Crafthub.
The theme of this year‘s Rainforest World Craft Bazaar (RWCB) is “Green Crafts” – promoting the use of recycled and organic crafts materials as well as all the tradiotional crafts. We feature the old and the new – and the green!
This year we will have more emphasis on craftwork demonstrations, with many artists and artisans bringing along tools and materials, and demonstrating their skill and craft to an audience of fanciers, collectors, buyers. We hope to include some hands-on activities for visitors to try.
The Rainforest World Crafts Bazaar is held at the same time, in the same place, as the Rainforest World Music Festival, which attracts up to 22,000 visitors from dozens of countries – a good-sized customer base for the Crafts Bazaar!
In the three years it has been held, the RWCB has exceeded expectations, with exhibitors from Sarawak, Sabah, West Malaysia, Indonesia, Denmark, Kyrgyzstan, India, Central Asia, Poland, Korea and Japan taking part in this colourful festival.
Information for Music Festival Visitors
RWCB 2011 will overlap with the full 3 days of the RWMF (Friday 8 – Sunday 10 July), and will be an integral part of the RWMF, held at the same venue, the Sarawak Cultural Village. You will have unrestricted access between the various Music Festival events and our RWCB area which is just a few steps away from the music areas.
So, if you are here for the music, please do also visit RWCB to see exciting crafts products from Sarawak, the rest of Malaysia, and many parts of the world. It is a good opportunity to buy presents… for yourself or for friends! The choice will be wide, with items priced from a few ringgits upwards, and many smaller, lighter items which you can easily carry.
