Students from the famed Art School who have just won Second Prize in The World Cup of Folklore 2017 organized by the European Association of Folklore Festivals in Italy this year.
They were also the Grand Prize Winner in Georgia, 2012, Golden Award winner in the 2013 International Folklore Competition in Bulgaria, 1st place in the 2014 International Folklore Competition in Romania, 2nd Place and People’s Choice Award at the 2016 International Folklore Competition held in Barcelona, Spain.
They will present their winning performance based on the folk music from the 9 main indigenous communities of Sarawak.
Most of the music centres around the Planting and Harvest seasons – important landmark events in the lives of the Sarawak people.
