Powerful horns, toe-tapping fiddle and contagious rhythms characterise Habadekuk – one of Denmark’s leading folk bands, guaranteed to get you on the dance floor.  With a vibrant mix of folk, salsa and big band jazz, the lively nine-man band catapults old folk melodies into the 21st century. Habadekuk was awarded “Album of the Year” at Danish Music Award Folk 2011 for their debut album “Hopsadaddy”.  Fiddler Kristian Bugge was crowned “Folk Artist of the Year” at the same occasion. The band also won Best Group at NORD ’09, the Nordic championships in folk music.

The band has wowed audiences across Europe and Canada.  They have appeared at Tønder Festival, Skagen Festival, Cambridge Folk festival (UK), WOMAD (UK), Beverley Festival (UK), Mission Folk Festival (CAN), Korrö Festival (SE), Irish Guinness Festival (CH), NAFCo Fiddle Conference (IRL), Festival des Traversées Tatihou (FR), Gooikoorts (B), Sounds of the North (PL), Haukelister Festival (N) Koskis Folk and Folklandia (FIN).

The band consists of top musicians known from other groups such as Baltic Crossing, Impuls Trio, Rannok, Kings of Polka, Skiftespor, The Asteroids Galaxy Tour, Tip Toe Big Band, Green Fairy, Flotille, Christian Søgaard Trio, Royal Swing Band, Laura Mo, Svøbsk, Jensen & Bugge.
