Kuching, February 29, 2012 – The public will once again have the opportunity to select their favourite design on T-shirts to be produced as merchandise items for both the Rainforest World Music (RWMF) and Borneo Jazz (BJ) Festivals 2012 and at the same time stand a chance to win tickets to the festival.
Throughout the years of running the two iconic events, Borneo Jazz and Rainforest World Music Festival, STB has recognized talents of local university students to design t-shirts to be used for the events. This year is no different. Students of Universities and institutions of higher learning in Malaysia were invited to send in their designs. The responses have been great and numerous.
The general public is now invited to pick their favorite design. Not only will the winning designer be rewarded and their university will be commended but you, the voters, will stand a chance to win tickets to the festivals!
The Competition is part of the Sarawak Tourism Boards’ corporate social responsibility (CSR) program. By reaching out to students all over Malaysia, their talent, not only in designing but also in assisting in the organization of events is encouraged. STB will continue to work with local as well as international universities as part of its Internship as well as volunteer programme. Currently, the board is hosting Interns from Sarawak, West Malaysia and even as far away as Europe. All of them are actively involved in the planning and organization of the festivals.
The event this weekend is in collaboration with tHe Spring Shopping Mall. So make a date with us this Friday, 2nd March from 11.30 am to 10 pm and on Saturday, 3rd and Sunday 4th March, from 10 am to 10 pm. There will be T-Shirt design voting on all these days so come and pick your winning design!
