Completely energetic, rock roots, a huge collection of exotic instruments, ethnic groove and an unforgettable lead singer – this is Čankišou. They are one of the top world music bands in the Czech Republic and their most recent album made 17th in the World Music Chart Europe in November 2011. The beat is insistent. The music is riveting. The sound is eclectic.
Czech band Čankišou became famous in the Czech Republic and also abroad for its concerts full of energy and wild rhythms. Concerts run by singer Karel Herman who is very impressive not only because of his voice but also his figure become dance parties few minutes after beginning. Čankišou mixes influences from various ethnics with rock roots and with its rich collection of exotic instruments travels the world.

The Rainforest World Music Festival has again been voted for the third consecutive year as one of the top 25 international festivals by Songlines. The festival will be held from the 13 to 15 July 2012 at the Sarawak Cultural Village and apart from the wonderful music and bands that you will see and listen to, there will also be their CDs and other festival memorabilia for sale. There will also be stalls selling a fusion of local as well as international food.
The Rainforest World Craft Bazaar (RWCB) will also be held alongside the Rainforest World Music Festival at the Sarawak Cultural Village and will feature prominently as an important fringe event. RWCB 2012 promises to be even better than in previous years with a greater variety of arts and crafts with participation from Sabah, Terengganu, and Selangor as well as from countries as far as Uzbezkistan and Indonesia.
