Three days of non-stop adventure in myriad cultures and world music, as old as the mountains and perennial as the sea. Experience the stunning shows of 38 groups of performers from 19 countries, presenting the music of their culture and region. The Rainforest World Music Festival is staged at the Sarawak Cultural Village in the magical foothill of Mt. Santubong. The venue is a 40-min ride from the capital city of Kuching.

 

 Take part in the mini sessions!

Try your hand at ancient instruments from around the world and learn the dances of the ancestors. The mini sessions set an intimate atmosphere with the artists, and this year features a more in depth Sape (Bornean boat lute) lessons.

 

Other Fringe Events

Cultural snippets, wellness sessions, film screenings, and pop-up performances are everywhere. There’s never a dull moment, with activities taking place in every corner of the festival grounds, so don’t blink or you might miss it! Catch a traditional welcoming dance in one of the indigenous houses, join a yoga session in one of the open area.

Enjoy the taste of traditional local, international and fusion dishes at the Food and Village Mart or get your hands on the handmade arts and crafts at the World Crafts Bazaar.
