Kuching, 13 June 2011: The final preparations for the 14th edition of the Rainforest World Music Festival are very much underway. This morning a briefing for vendors of the food and village mart was held to finalise and confirm their participation at the festival as well as to brief them of the do’s and don’ts and the guidelines laid down by the festival organizer.

A total of 40 stalls will be set up at Sarawak Cultural Village during the Rainforest World Music Festival 2011. Of this total number, 20 stalls will be selling a wide selection of food and drinks. Among them will be an assortment of western, Japanese, Middle Eastern and Thai cuisine. Local cuisine will also be offered and they include the famous Sarawak laksa, ayam pansuh, umai Sarawak, mee kolok, assorted Nyonya savories “kuih-muih”, and many more. The children are not forgotten and there will be an assortment of finger food, Fench fries and ice cream. For those of you on a healthy diet, there will be fresh juices and fruits available.

Apart from the food stalls, another 20 stalls will be set up selling handicraft and other festival memorabilia. There will also be a stall set up specially for airbrush ink tattoo and henna tattoo and one selling this years performers CD and souvenirs.

The Rainforest World  will also be held alongside and these will feature handicrafts from various countries.

In line with the festival’s Greening Campaign, all vendors have been advised to use recyclable products during the festival. Recycle bins will also be provided at the festival ground. Food cleanliness and hygiene has been given much emphasis and all food waste & rubbish are to be properly disposed in the rubbish bins provided.

The Food and Village mart will operate from July 8 – 10, 2011 beginning as early as 10 am and will go on till the show ends.

The Rainforest World Music Festival is a not-to-be-missed occasion, guaranteeing a smashing time in the heart of the Borneo Jungle. This is where people, regardless of their ethnicity, cultural backgrounds and music interests come together to have the time of their lives. This jam-packed event which takes up three days of musical fun features activities like informative workshops, ethno-musical lectures, jamming sessions and mini concerts.
